Treatment of Hyperprolactinaemia Patients with hyperprolactinaemia and small pituitary tumours may be treated either by surgery, using the transsphenoidal approach, or medically, with dopamine- agonist drugs. For microadenomas, the results, in the hands of most experienced surgeons, are similar.
